No One Says it Better...

...than Dr. Martin Luther King-

"A nation that continues year after year to spend more money on military defense than on programs of social uplift is approaching spiritual doom. "

"History will have to record that the greatest tragedy of this period of social transition was not the strident clamor of the bad people, but the appalling silence of the good people."

...This country is once again heading into tumultuous times, will we go there without organizing, without a leader or leaders who care for us, the people, will it be worse this time around? What are we going to do?

I recently viewed a video the democratic convention that dated back to the 70's.
If someone, today would take every speech and exchange a few words , for example, change Vietnam with Iraq, they could re-run the video on TV and no one would know the difference. Promises for more jobs, better wages, bring down the cost of energy, cleaner environment, money for schools, end the war, etc. Nothing has changed except the dollar is worth far less today than it was back then. People are probably more stressed and wiped out than ever. Politicians seem to only serve their own lust of power , greed, and to pander to those who finance their campaigns. Today these politicians are even more arrogant about it.
I'm sick of those idiots who lay claim that a candidate is credible because of their ability to raise millions of dollars for their own campaign. They say candidates need the money to pay for “media”. Who do you think owns the main stream media? The same huge corporate giants who are benefiting from the war, are the same huge cash cows who, with a phone call, can make back room deals to change Federal and State and City legislation to suit their own needs. Screw the rest of us.
Today we have free media such as websites, public access TV, community radio and good old word of mouth. Money is really not needed to run for office. The 80% of the of the people who do not vote are not reading the propaganda in media anyways. If a person could raise millions for a charitable organization why wouldn't that be a political credit? The political scene is a sham, scam and a shame. Worcester is not immune to it.
Toast to the kids, may they learn to pray for God's grace to survive the bullshit and hope to over come it.

Ever smell the stink of 1984 (by George Orwell) when you're reading/watching anything about politics these days? At least the thought police haven't infiltrated the internet!
